Meet Louise and Layton, two adventurers who were on a mission to travel the country with their pup
Barkley. They started in Durham, North Carolina, moved to St. Petersburg, Florida, and eventually settled
down in Denver, Colorado. What led them to choose Denver? It was mountains, the people, the culture,
and openness with dogs that made them realize that this is the place they wanted to call home. Let’s
take a closer look at their journey and how they brought the concept of the dog bar to Colorado.
While living in St. Petersburg they found a place called The Dog Bar. The Dog Bar is exactly what it
sounds like – a bar for dogs! When they heard about The Dog Bar, they were intrigued and had to check
it out for themselves. This outdoor space was designed specifically for both owners and their furry
friends alike – complete with obstacles courses for dogs, doggy pools during summertime, beer for
humans (and water for pups!), live music performances every now and then…the list goes on! Needless
to say, Louise and Layton fell in love with this concept as soon as they stepped foot into The Dog Bar – so
much so that they knew they wanted something similar when they settled down somewhere new.
Denver lacks specialty bars that cater specifically to owners and their pets alike—which makes sense
considering that pet-friendly establishments are more popular than ever before due to people wanting
companionship during these uncertain times. We’ve seen successful examples of dog bars operating
elsewhere in the US – from Texas’s all the way up north in Minnesota – so why not bring this idea over
here? Such an establishment can provide socialization opportunities for both owners and pets as well as
exercise activities such as obstacle courses or even agility training classes; plus responsible pet
ownership education through seminars or workshops hosted by experienced professionals within the
industry. All of these elements combined can create an environment where everyone feels safe while
having fun!
